Adventure sport body’s new course
Pune: City-based mountaineering organization Giripremi and Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering (GGIM) have announced a new programme for youngsters.
The programme will not only teach rock climbing and mountaineering essentials but other skills too that will train the participants for bigger challenges.
The new course is an extension of the organization’s 12-year-old ‘Avhaan’ event, which has been upgraded as Avhaan Nirmaan Udaan (ANU), GGIM course coordinator Dinesh Kotkar said.
The institute provides training for trekking, rock climbing, history, geography, first-aid, environmental science and Himalayas adventure. Besides, ANU imparts lessons on team bonding, leadership, decision making, positivity and patience through practical experiences.
Kotkar said, “In the coming time, only academic knowledge won’t do. ANU is a programme essentially designed to infuse confidence and a daring attitude among the young generation.”
