Rouf White Water Rafting- An Event to look for.
The Department of tourism Kashmir has organised a Rouf Memorial White Water Rafting Championship at Pahalgam which would commence of 17th June 2019 followed by closing ceremony on 19th June 2019 at 1:00 PM.
The Championship is conducted in accordance with the White Water Rafting Association of Jammu and Kashmir and the advisor to the Hon’ble governor of Jammu and Kashmir Mr.Jenab Khursheed A.Ghani will be the chief guest for the championship.
The championship got its name from the brave heart Rouf Ahmad Dar who saved the lives of two tourist couples in a boat ride at river Lidder, but had to lay down his own life in order to rescue them.
To pay a tribute to him as well as promote adventure sports in Jammu and Kashmir the department of tourism of Kashmir came up with this championship atleast 13 different teams will take part in this championship from all over the state
There is also a horse race organised by the Department of Tourism Kashmir
