Deer battling for life in Hogenakkal
A spotted deer is battling for life after it slipped and fell off a rocky terrain in Hogenakkal.
The deer, which broke its limbs in the mishap, got trapped in rock crevices and was rescued by forest officials.
The animal, which had strayed into Hogenakkal in search of water, had slipped and fallen several feet down.
Two instances
The locals alerted the forest officials, who hauled the deer off the rock and took it to the forest office for treatment.
Over the past month, there have been two instances of animals straying away from the forest in search of water.
A spotted deer was recently mauled to death by stray dogs in Harur in the district.
